Events and trade shows

Turn booth conversations into leads you can follow up

A visitor taps your card at the stand and your profile opens on their phone. They save your contact and send theirs back in the same moment, so you leave the show with a list of names, not a pocket of paper.

Where paper cards fall short

  1. The fishbowl of paper cards

At the end of a three-day show you have a bag of cards, some with notes on the back, most without. Typing them in takes days, and by then the visitors have heard from your competitors.

  2. You give a card and get nothing back

A visitor takes your card and walks on. Unless they email you, you have no way to reach them. The conversation was good and it's gone.

  3. No idea what the show was worth

After the event, the team counts badges scanned or cards collected and guesses. There's no clear way to see which person brought in which leads, or which conversations turned into meetings.

How Nexus helps

  • Get their details back with Exchange

When a visitor opens your profile, Exchange lets them send their name, email, phone and company back to you in a few seconds. You both leave with each other's details.

  • Lead forms for qualified leads

Add a lead form that asks what matters to your sales team: company size, product interest, timeline. Available on Pro and Teams.

  • Follow up the same evening

Every contact lands in your list with the date, how it arrived and room for your notes. Export it as CSV, or send it as it arrives to HubSpot, Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Zoho CRM, Pipedrive or monday.com, through Zapier or Make, or to your own signed webhook.

  • Results by person and by city

Analytics show taps, QR scans, saves and link clicks for each card. The visit map shows city-level activity, so you can see the show working, without tracking cookies or stored IP addresses.

  • Speakers: share the deck after the talk

Add your slides as a PDF and a link to the session recording. Put a QR code on your last slide or hold your card up after the talk, and attendees get everything in one tap.

  • Scan the paper cards you're handed

Plenty of visitors still hand over paper. Photograph the card at the stand and it becomes a contact in the same list, Arabic and English cards included. Lead enrichment then looks up their company and role on the public web, with sources, so you know who to call first. Both are on every plan, with credits included each month.

A day with Nexus

Day one at the booth

  1. Before doors open

    Setting up the stand

The team adds the show's product sheet and a Booking card for demos to their profiles. A large QR code on the stand points to the same profile for people walking past.

  2. At the booth

    A good conversation

A procurement manager asks about pricing. Your rep taps the card on her phone, she saves the contact and sends her details back with Exchange. The rep adds a note while she's still there.

  3. After the keynote

    From the stage

Your head of product finishes a talk. The last slide shows a QR code; forty people open his profile, download the slides and twelve leave their details on the lead form.

  4. At the hotel

    The same-day follow-up

The day's leads are already in HubSpot, including the paper cards the team photographed at the stand. Demos booked through Cal.com sit in the Meetings dashboard, follow-ups go out before dinner, and the sales lead checks team analytics to see who brought in what.

For the whole company

Equip the whole stand from one dashboard

On the Teams plan you set one template with your brand, the show's material and a demo link, then lock it so every rep at the stand looks the same. Order cards for the whole team and assign them from a card pool, including temporary staff for a show. Reassign a card to someone else when the event is over, block a lost one in a click. Contacts from every rep land in one company list and sync to your CRM, and team analytics show results per person. Read more in our guide for teams.

Questions people ask

How is this different from scanning badges?
Badge scanning depends on the organiser's app and usually only works at that event. A Nexus card works anywhere, shares your profile in one tap, and lets the visitor send their details back with Exchange. The contacts are yours, not the organiser's.
What if the venue Wi-Fi or signal is bad?
The visitor's phone opens your profile over its own connection. If signal is weak, they can save your contact once the page loads. A slower connection takes longer but doesn't break the tap.
Can I send booth leads to our CRM?
Yes, on Pro and Teams. New contacts sync natively to HubSpot, Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Zoho CRM, Pipedrive and monday.com, go through Zapier or Make to other tools, or reach your own system with signed webhooks. CSV export works on every plan.
Can temporary booth staff use cards?
Yes. On Teams, assign a card from the pool for the event, then reassign it after. The contacts they collected stay with the company.
What about visitors who hand me a paper card?
Photograph it and it becomes a contact, Arabic and English cards included, then enrich it with the person's company and role. The scanner and enrichment are on every plan, with credits included each month. Our conference networking guide covers what to set up before, during and after an event.
